Madison Wrangler Ride
August 15, 2025 – August 17, 2025
We are very excited about the weekend coming up August 15-17. We will do the Lake Loop around Lake Manona on Friday evening. That is a 13 mile loop. Saturday we have a ride of 29 miles with an added loop making it 40 miles if you wish. We have also a restaurant picked out for that as well. Sunday we will do a 23 mile ride and have a brunch place that will be able to accommodate us at the half way point.
Rough schedule:
• Arrive at Freys Friday around 4:00, set out to ride 4:30 ish.
• Saturday. Meet at parking area near Freys, set off at 9:00 to ride. Eat at Green Lantern, just about 4 miles before end of ride.
• Saturday night pizza etc. at Freys as well as some dancing and door prizes.
• Sunday set off from the designated parking spot not far at 9:00 for Brunch ride of 23 miles. 11 miles in Bruch at Grace Coffee Company.
• FYI You will need to purchase a trail pass just to be legal. It is a minimal 5 dollars for a day, if you want a year, 25 dollars —yourpassnow.com/ParkPass/wi
While in Madison, fun things to check out.
• Madison Zoo–free
• State Street–shops and restaurants.
• State Capitol– free, great observation deck up top and beautiful marble and artwork inside.
• Arboretum
• Lots of extra bike paths and trails–google them!
• Fishing
• Campus-everywhere. There is a free geology museum in Weeks Hall 1215 West Dayton Street. Even has Dinosaurs. Be sure to check times.
• Ice Cream- everywhere! At Memorial Union on Campus, Chocolate Shoppe on State Street. Babcock Dairy on Campus, Monona Bait and Ice Cream, Michael’s Custard… etc.
