This is a CACTUS ride — CATS and COWS Tandeming in Unison with Style! (A jointly sponsored CATS/COWS ride.) The ride will start and end at Kenosha’s Petrifying Springs Park. We are planning to have a picnic lunch at the park biergarten afterward. The 36-mile route is basically a down-and-back on trails and low-traveled streets with great views of the Kenosha Lakeshore. The 46-mile route adds a northern loop on the paved and very nice Pike River Pathway and the Kenosha County Bike Trail. See the links below for GPS files. The route will be very similar to last year. As always, if riding as part of COWS, you do need to be a club member for our insurance purposes (if you’ve not already joined or renewed your membership in 2023, you can do so here).
There will be a “bring your own” picnic lunch at the Kenosha Biergarten immediately after the ride. Bring your own lunch (or you may purchase food from the limited menu at the Biergarten – mainly bratwurst, pretzels, etc). A few rules of the Biergarten: They take cash only, no credit cards (ATM is on site). Food may be brought into the Biergarten, but drinks (including sodas or water bottles) are NOT allowed to be brought in. Everyone will need to purchase their drinks at the Biergarten.
Event Start Location: Petrifying Springs Park, Kenosha, WI. We will meet in the parking lot just across the road from Petrifying Springs Biergarten. Enter the park from Petrifying Springs Road (County Rd JR) which runs on the south side of the park. After entering the park, the parking lot will be on the west side of the road, right across from the Biergarten.
